Visual Meta GmbH is an innovative e-commerce company based in the heart of Berlin, which has grown rapidly since being founded in 2009. Since December 2011 our company has been taken over by the Axel Springer Group.

We are looking for Java Frontend developers (m/f) on a full-time basis to help us invent, extend and scale our frontend services for leading shopping comparison platforms worldwide like LadenZeile and ShopAlike.

We deal a lot with modern web technologies, such as HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery, CSS and SASS, search technologies and large databases. We code stuff that matters and reaches millions of people. We believe in lean and agile software engineering. Our technology stack is plain Java, MySQL, Hadoop, Spring, Eclipse and Tomcat (JSP).

Your profile:

  • University degree in engineering, computer science or similar
  • Software Engineer (m/f) with decent Java experience
  • Knowledge of web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, etc.
  • Highly motivated and love writing software
  • Analytical mindset with a kick-ass “getting things done” mentality
  • Fluent in spoken and written English

Your responsibilities:

  • Implementation of new features
  • A/B testing
  • Improvement on our page loading time
  • Internationalisation
  • Responsive design 
  • Landing page optimisation
