We are looking for a Senior Bioinformatician (m/f/d) to join in the R & D bioinformatics team in Berlin. You will be responsible for developing new bioinformatics pipelines and improving current algorithms.
Your Tasks
- You plan and develop bioinformatic toolchains and pipeline for NGS diagnostics
- You maintain end-user software and web applications
- You provide bioinformatic data analysis and algorithm development
- You closely collaborate with medical bioinformatics and the reporting team
- You pro-actively drive further improvement to reach targets
- You assist in the standardization and management of SOPs for the R & D bioinformatics team
Your Profile
- You have a doctorate degree (with +3 years work experience) or master degree (with +5 years work experience in the field) in Bioinformatics, computer science or related field
- You have strong hands-on programing skills (C++, Python, Perl, Unix, SQL, etc)
- You have at least 2 years of software development experience in a scientific environment, ideally in an international company
- You have knowledge of NGS data analysis (RNA-seq, DNA-seq, etc) and in depth knowledge of relevant public and proprietary databases, methods and tools (UCSC Genome Browser, TCGA, gnomAD)
- You must have experience with scalable cloud environments (AWS preferred)
- You have strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, combined with good team spirit
- You are able to set priorities, meet timelines and company objectives.
